The low bed semi trailer goes by many names. Lowboy, low loader, and float are just a few.
The low bed semi trailer is so named because it has a load floor that is so close to ground. There are no rails installed around the four sides of the floor. Available with a large or small gooseneck feature, the trailer has an unlimited number of uses but is primarily employed in long-distance freight transport system to carry heavy equipment such as excavator, crane and road roller.
Low bed design means a low center of gravity, which makes it more stable and safe to use than an ordinary semi trailer.

The low bed semi trailer is comprised of three parts.
The front part is a gooseneck structure. At one end of the gooseneck is a kingpin, which needs to be inserted into the slot of the fifth wheel on the tractor unit. The other end of the gooseneck is connected to the trailer. The middle part is a sunken deck for loading goods. It is the lowest among the three parts. The rear part is an assembly of wheels and platform.
Machinery is loaded onto the deck from the rear part of the semi trailer via a ramp. Users can remove the wheels of the machinery prior to loading. The machinery needs to be secured in place on the deck whose minimum height is 800mm. The trailer can have exposed or recessed tires. It also can be custom designed to meet your specific requirements.
High quality axles are purchased from professional manufacturers, able to withstand heavy load without deformation. The ABS brake system is adopted to allow more steering ability by slightly releasing the brakes during a driving emergency whereas conventional brakes completely block the wheel, which might cause the vehicle to skid to one side or its back end swing out from the road. In a nutshell, with the ABS you’ll stop faster and drive more safely.
Unique suspension system has great impact strength, and is used to equalize loads over all axles. Its trailing arm angle is set at a proper level to reduce the skid distance produced due to the friction between the tire and road surface, thereby easing tire wear. The axle track of the trailer can be adjusted via the trailing arms to avoid uneven tire wear as well as tire bite. Axle blocks are one-piece castings. The lower axle block is made with patented technology.
The dual air brake system is used to deliver reliable braking performance. Air storage tank can release air to activate the air brake for keeping the car motionless while it is parked.
